Pursuing a Master's in Fashion Design. 02/18/2012
Ever since September 2011 I've been quietly pursuing a Master's. It's been a real challenge to read and reflect in meaningful ways on the academic literature and new concepts we are taught. As a maker and craftsperson fusing theories and concepts from various philosophies has really changed how I see my work. I hope to share this process as I grow and learn through this blog. For now, here are some inspirational fashion pieces I have found.... Add Comment Hamilton never disappoints..... 05/27/2011

Its been such a long time since I posted! I moved studios and my home, got a part-time teaching job, bought 3 knitting machines, caught the shoe making bug, developed a new collection (working on spring/ summer now) and have generally been working really hard. Teaching has been a beautiful experience. It forces you to articulate and write down everything you have learned about (in this case) fashion and pattern drafting. Over christmas my very lovely boyfriend bought me a camera which I am only just beginning to master. One of the features is aspect ratio control (ie. I can shoot in square format) as well as a range of black and white settings. Lovely. Images I Take Of Things Around Me 10/01/2010

I love doing photoshoots. And my friend Lindsay is so game its hard not to get sidetracked with flash set-ups, dynamic poses and cool effects....... This time we played around with burst shooting while Lindsay gamely jumped, ran, twisted and flopped....okay no flopping. But we didn't realize the burst shooting defaults to three megapixels, limiting: but sufficient! Its so much fun trying out new effects. | ArchivesFebruary 2012 CategoriesAuthorLiving and working in Hamilton, Ontario. A cool working class city that feels like home. |
